General Description
The Director of Evangelization and Adult Faith Formation serves the mission of Saint Peter Church by building opportunities for parishioners to grow in their life of prayer, service to the world as disciples, and sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ with others.  

The person in this role is responsible for the organization and administration of Catholic faith-enhancing programs for all adult people in Saint Peter Parish, from the college-aged to senior citizens.  Fulfillment of this role's mission will be carried out with direct supervision from the pastor and in collaboration with the parish's leadership staff.

Qualifications
The Director of Evangelization and Adult Faith Formation must be living in full sacramental communion with the Catholic Church. The ideal candidate will possess advanced level degrees in Catholic theology or religious education and has demonstrated success in bringing results to evangelization initiatives.    This person must be competent in applying age appropriate catechetical methods and basic program development as well as exhibit skills in interpersonal communication, collaborative ministry, social media and public speaking.  Completion of the Prevent and Protect program and appropriate background checks are required.  Other Qualifications include:

• Three years of ministry experience related to this role of evangelization and faith formation, preferably in a parish or similar Catholic institution
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• High degree of organizational skill
• Demonstrates creativity in developing events and opportunities for parishioners
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and public speaking with a wide variety of audiences
• Pastoral experience with people across the spectrum of theological perspectives
• Experience with the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)
• Experience or familiarity with the ACTS retreat program
• Flexibility to act in both supportive and leadership roles
• Basic technological competence, e.g. Office Suite, email, Flocknotes, etc
• Experience with multi-media platforms
• Strong interpersonal skills and a spirit of joy and collaboration

General Responsibilities
This person will provide the following functions:

• Collaboratively develops and maintains a sequential catechetical process with appropriate materials for each stage of faith development, and for life-long learning
• Oversees the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) and leads the team of catechists associated with this program
• Develops and maintains a calendar of parish activities or exercises that celebrate the Church's seasonal observances
• Serves as the point of contact for the parish's small faith communities and prayer groups, providing assistance with resources and meeting meets as requested
• Assists the ACTS core team in the planning and execution of retreats
• Works with Archdiocesan Office of Catholic Education and Formation and represents the parish at meetings and conferences pertaining to adult faith and catechetical programming
• Cooperates with parish staff in all necessary communication of relevant programs and securing the use of the facilities
• Monitors and develop an annual budget in consultation with the parish Director of Finance and Operations
• Evaluates the programs to determine strengths, areas of improvement, and future needs
• Perform any other pertinent duties as assigned by the pastor

Working Arrangements
The Director of Evangelization and Adult Faith Formation is a full-time position.  This person will be provided office space with a private telephone line, computer, internet access, and use of gathering spaces for work-related events.  This role will require flexibility of time as evening and weekend work-related activities will happen.  These times include but are not limited to, the Christmas season, Holy Week, and the Easter season.
