In 2006, our pastor and school principal determined that
Saint Peter Parish needed to establish a fundraising policy. The need for this policy was in response to
a growing concern about the number of fundraising programs conducted at both
the school and the various parish ministries.
In developing this policy, an ad-hoc committee, consisting
of representatives from the School Board, Pastoral Council and the
The consensus was that there were too many requests, too
often. Not only were school and parish
families being asked to make frequent contributions; often times these projects
were being done at the same time, conflicting with each other, and impacting
the amount of money or goods collected.
What became apparent was there was a need to streamline and coordinate
fundraising projects.

The mission of St. Peter Parish is: “Built on
the rock of St. Peter, the Apostle of faith, love, and forgiveness, we are a
Catholic parish dedicated to live, witness, and proclaim the good news of
Christ through worship, education, and loving service to each other and our
community.”
Going forward, any new and/or additional fundraising
projects not on the Fundraising calendar will need to be approved by the newly-formed
The proposal form for all new fundraising requests (not on
the attached list) is available at the church and school offices. Additionally, the form is available on-line
at the St. Peter Church Website. Simply

the form. Print the page, fill it out, and submit it to the Fundraising
Committee care of the Parish Office.
Proposal forms must be submitted 30 days prior to the
requested start date of the fundraising program. The Fundraising Committee will evaluate all
proposals and notify individuals/organizations within 10 days if a given
project has been approved. The project
may be approved but moved to another date, depending on fundraising activity.
