St. Peter Catholic Church

(Updated January 16, 2007)

Welcome to our Men's Group Page

Please join us at our next meeting–January 27th –7:15 A. M.

·         What is the biggest obstacle that you have encountered in your search for God?

·         Have you created, or followed, false gods in your life?

·         In what ways can we come to know the living God?

If you are searching for answers to questions like these, why not join the St. Peters Men’s Group?

The Men's Group is a small group of men in the parish
who meet regularly to share our Catholic faith.

We discuss issues that concern our lives, our work, our families,
but more importantly, our faith.

We use the Catechism of the Catholic Church as our guide.
We read selected pages from the Catechism and reflect
on its meaning by being able to relate it to our daily lives.

Issues which surface most often:

·         Why is the Catholic Church the 'one true Church'?

·         How are we affected by the mystery of Jesus' hidden years?

·         What is the role of devotion to the Blessed Virgin in our lives?

·         What is the Church's teaching on social issues such as capital punishment?

·         How have Pope John Paul II's reforms affected the practice of our faith?

·         How often are we aware of praying? Daily?

·         How do the Sacraments, including reconciliation, enrich our lives?

·         How do we seek "Unity of Life" with Christ?

·         How are we aware of putting our lives into God's hands?

Place: Rectory Basement (Parish Library)

Schedule:  Every other Saturday.  Our next meeting is on January 27th.

  • The covenant that God made with his people and proclaimed by Moses guides us in our present day.  What significance does it have in our daily lives?
  • What are the “demands” of the commandments that Jesus gave to us?
  • How do the Ten Commandments fit into the Tradition of the Church?

At this week’s Men’s Group meeting, we’ll reflect on the Gospel readings for the day as well as use the new Compendium of the Catechism as we begin to discuss “The Ten Commandments”.  Please join us (the coffee’s always on):  All men of the parish are welcome.

The next meeting will be held Saturday, Jan. 27th, in the rectory basement.  Schedule as follows:

                        7:15 am Discussion

                        8:15 am Mass
