Eucharist

The Holy Eucharist

The Eucharist is the source and summit of the Christian faith, as explained in the Catechism of the Catholic Church. The People of God gathers at the Sunday Eucharist to be fed by the Word of God and by the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ, and by the community present. Families eagerly look forward to First Holy Communion, which is celebrated during the Easter season for parish second graders.

First Communion for Children and Adults

School Age Children

Parish children receive their classroom preparation for the Sacrament of the Eucharist in St. Peter Grade School, our Parish School of Religion or a private Catholic grade school. Each family is required to have a parent in attendance at the beginning informational meeting in February. All parish families celebrating First Communion also participate the special activities of our combined Community Day/Rehearsal. At Community Day, [parents and children have a brief rehearsal,  Msgr. Jack leads a session on "Eucharist as Meal" around the altar in church, program covers are created, music is practiced and a service project completed. In a very special way, the children and families experience the living community of St. Peter Parish!

Please pray for the First Communicants of St. Peter Parish, who will receive the Body and Blood of Jesus for the first time on Saturday April 26, 2014 at either the 11:00 AM or 2:00 PM Holy Mass.
