PURPOSE:
The role of the Pastoral Council is one of service for the parishioners:
- Advise the Pastor
- Set the vision of the parish – set direction and course for the parish and its commissions
- Assist the commissions to assure alignment with the Mission Statement
- Set yearly agenda/goals for the parish
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The responsibilities of the Pastoral Council include:
- Assign Pastoral Council representative(s) to each commission
- Participate in assigned commission(s) to support their goals in keeping with the Vision and Mission Statement
- Advise and support the Pastoral Staff
- Develop short and long term parish goals in keeping with the Vision and Mission statement
- Meet annually in prayerful retreat to choose leadership, revisit vision, and set goals
- Listen to the parishioners and be aware of events/concerns
MEMBERSHIP:
- Consists of 12 or more members as determined by the nomination and discernment process
- Members will have staggered three year terms
MEETINGS:
- Executive Committee Meeting monthly
- Pastoral Council Meeting monthly
- Commission Meeting as scheduled
- Other meetings as scheduled
