PURPOSE:
The role of the Finance Committee is one of service for the parishioners:
- Advise the Pastor with regard to financial issues
- Prepare an annual budget for the parish – set financial direction and course for the parish and its commissions
- Establish financial means that promote evangelization for all parishioners
- Institute financial measures to advance and promote St. Peter School in order to provide exceptional educational opportunities to the students of St. Peter.
- Set annual financial agenda/goals for the parish
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The responsibilities of the Finance Committee include:
- Plan and provide financial support to various commissions in order to support their goals.
- Properly manage cash generated and consumed by all St. Peter commissions
- Advise and support the Pastoral Staff with regard to financial decisions
- Properly manage invested funds
- Participate in various Diocesan business management and strategy meetings
- Develop short and long term financial goals in keeping with the Vision and Mission statement
- Listen to the parishioners and be aware of ongoing financial concerns and issues
MEMBERSHIP:
- Currently consists of approximately 10 parishioners, Msgr. Jack Costello – Pastor, and Kevin Stillman – Business Manager
- Participation on the Committee is voluntary. Interested parishioners can contact the current Chairman of the Committee for further information.
MEETINGS:
- Finance Committee meets every third Thursday of the month.
